2440 ASTM Wall Padding Standard - December 1, 2005
Promats worked with other industry leaders within an ASTM subcommittee to develop a standard method for testing and evaluating protective wall padding. After many months of discussions and ideas, a test method was developed and approved that would compare the shock absorbing characteristics of wall padding and set a benchmark for performance. The test is basically “pass/fail.” While the standard is strictly voluntary it provides a framework for comparing one mat to another. In an effort to comply with the voluntary ASTM 2440 wall padding standard, Promats has begun to reconfigure the foam core on all our indoor wall mat products to comply with the standard.
